Village Pines organized a child centered outreach event to support and enrich some local unfortunate children who are hospitalized or receiving routine hospital treatments

The staff made "book baskets" of multi level books and delivered to the following locations:

• Miami Children Hospital
  

• Ronald McDonald House
  

Young Leaders with Character  Program

Village Pines is helping Janelle Zayas, the YLC Program Recreation leader, partner with the Ronald McDonald House in doing a mass collection of soda tabs and plastic bottle caps to help families in need.

"Open Your Hearts" Food Drive

Village Pines is collecting new, unopened boxes of pasta and jars of pasta sauce, which will be donated to the Miami VAHS Fisher House. The Fisher House is a home away from home for families of Veterans and military service members receiving care at the VA Medical Center. It enables the veterans' family to be close during hospitalizations by providing lodging only steps away from the Medical Center at no cost.
